RIC™ TiN - Reactive Ion Coatings Using Titanium Nitride

Liburdi Engineering's reactive ion coating (RIC™) technology provides maximum erosion protection for turbine blades, prolonging component life and increasing life cycle efficiency for turbine hot section components. RIC™ is a physical vapor deposition process that bonds well with substrates and creates a thin, smooth and hard coating.

Testing has shown that RIC™ TiN coatings:

  • Increase time between overhaul (TBO)
  • Minimize chord loss
  • Lower specific fuel consumption (SFC)
  • Preserve gas turbine power and stall margins at new compressor levels

LSR™ - Slurry Recoatings Using Plain and Modified Aluminides

Liburdi's Slurry Recoating (LSR™) technology provides maximum corrosion protection for external and internal turbine hot section components. These slurry coatings use plain and modified aluminides to create microstructures, chemistries, and cyclic oxidation stabilities as good as or better than conventional aluminide coatings.

The LSR™ process is portable and can easily be incorporated into new manufacturing and repair facilities, thus reducing turbine production and overhaul cost and delivery times.

Erosion and Corrosion Protection for Turbine Hot Section Components

Today's turbine engines have to function efficiently at higher temperatures and in hostile operating environments. Liburdi turbine coating services protect turbine blades from:

  • Corrosion due to chemical reactions between components and contaminants
  • Erosion due to hard particles suspended in the gas stream

Corrosion and erosion decrease the efficiency of turbine hot section components, shorten component life, and lead to higher fuel costs. Liburdi's turbine coating services reduce maintenance costs and increase fuel efficiency during component life cycles.
