Liburdi Engineering has pioneered in the development of several unique vapor coating processes capable of depositing wear resistant and oxidation resistant coatings. In addition to providing these coating services, Liburdi designs and builds Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating systems for installation at customer’s facilities.

Physical Vapour Deposition Reactive Ion Coating - RICTM  EbPVD

The Reactive Ion Coating RICTM process is plasma assisted electron beam evaporation Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) process used to deposit hard, erosion resistant Titanium Nitride coatings for gas turbine compressors. 

Volcanic ash, Calcium carbinate, Silica and Alumina sand particulate are all current problems with engine performance.  Rapid decay of blades and vanes require erosion resistant coatings for engine survivability on wing.  Liburdi has provided this technology for over two decades in commercial and military applications around the world.

Liburdi Slurry Re-Coating - LSR®

The LSR® process provides a flexible, compact and economical alternative of appllying plain or modified aluminides internally and/or externally on Ni, Co, and Fe based alloys. The microstructure, chemistry and oxidation behaviour is similar or superior to the conventional high activity aluminide coatings. The ease of application and minimal environmental requirements facilitates the use of the LSR® process in manufacturing cells and turbine overhaul plants. It is a direct replacement for obsolete, uneconomical and environmentally challenging processes such as pack, hexivalent chrome bearing coating systems, CVD and electroplating.
